Suzuka Circuit
About Suzuka Circuit
Suzuka Circuit is a world-renowned motorsport racetrack located in Suzuka, Japan. Designed by Dutch engineer John Hugenholtz and opened in 1962, it is famous for its unique figure-eight layout, which features an overpass allowing part of the track to cross over another. The circuit is known for its fast corners, including the iconic “S” Curves, the Degner Curves, and the daunting 130R. It has hosted the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix since 1987 (except for a few years when it was held at Fuji Speedway) and is a favorite among drivers for its technical challenges and high-speed sections. Besides F1, Suzuka also hosts endurance races, motorcycle races, and the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hours motorcycle event.
